Lentil burgers
Ingredients:
• 3 cups of lentils
• ½ spring of cilantro
• ½ onion
• 2 cloves of garlic
• 2 bay leaves
• 2 raw carrots
• 1 cup of oat flakes
• 1 pinch of salt
• olive oil
Preparation:
-Activate the lentils for 5 hrs. (leave them soaked for 5 hours in clean water).
-Eliminate the water and put the lentils to boil in clean water. When it starts to boil, add the bay leaves and salt
and let them cook for 20 min. more, and then drain them again.
-When the temperature of the lentils lowers a little, make them pure with the help of a spoon or a potato masher.
-Blend the oat flakes.
-Finely slice the onion, garlic and sauté them with ½ tbsp. of olive oil, without letting them burn.
-Wash, peel and grate the carrots.
-In a bowl, mix garlic and onion, lentils, oatmeal and cilantro to form a dough with a texture that allows you to form pancakes.
-In a pan, warm ½ tbsp. of olive oil and fry the pancakes for about 7 minutes.
You can serve these single pancakes, accompanied with a salad or with a hamburger bun with tomato, lettuce and onion.
