Investing in you

Most of us make excuses to justify ourselves for the lack of interest we put in our health care. We always say that we don’t have time and we put a huge list of things to do before devoting ourselves to what is really important; that is — time for oneself.

What would happen if we spent the first hour of the day for ourselves? Surely our life would change radically.

Let’s take an example. When you wake up, the first 15 minutes would be to relax and meditate, that way you can start the day with peace. The next 15 minutes would be to do a series of stretches or light exercises that will give your body energy; they can be squats, jump rope, or circular movements of the arms. Later you invest 15 minutes having breakfast sitting at the table without hurry, that way you would not run out eating a loaf of bread, while you drive and drip some coffee in your clothes. And the last 15 minutes would be to plan your day, making a small list of pending tasks that will help you use your time more strategically and prevent you from forgetting something important. In this way you will be ready to start your activities with a more positive attitude.

Try it, get up a little earlier, don’t think you’re wasting your time, on the contrary, you’re investing in your physical and mental health.
