Careful with Cupid

Be careful with chocolates, cookies, and desserts this Valentine’s Day; because we let ourselves get carried away by the festivity and we celebrate big, without realizing that eating up so many unnecessary calories is rampant on this day. The bad thing is that we are not used to celebrating by giving away a basket of fresh vegetables, given that it’s less romantic than giving chocolate-covered strawberries.

Enjoy your day celebrating, but don’t forget to be aware that people often eat during celebrations, so try to keep a balance. Perhaps you can be prepared in advance and that way celebrate, without problems, eating some sweet and tasty things, of course if your health allows it.

One good option would be to prepare healthy food for before and after the celebration, like dishes low in fats and sugars or without carbs, that will help you a lot. Another alternative would be to eat half of the dessert or dish, sharing it with your partner and that way you are not left with temptation.

We advise you not to do a lot of gatherings to celebrate on the same day: for example, at lunch time eating with your best friends from work or school and at night celebrating with your significant other or your family; because that way, you’d only create an excessive load of calories for the day.

Another recommendation: if they give you chocolates and your goal is not to eat them but you don’t have too much willpower and you’re afraid of giving into temptation, give them away.
