FLOURS: Do you know the alternatives that exist in the market?

It is likely that you have a problem with the consumption of flour, either because we love sweet and salty breads, or because the tortilla is impossible to remove from our diet. In the end, we don’t want to recommend you stop eating any of these foods, but we can make small changes to make them healthier.

This week we took on the task of making a change in the preparation of some cookies with almond flour, replacing the refined flour that we normally use. This is a good option in order to consume the natural fats provided by the almonds, because the preparation of these cookies doesn’t take flour and just uses a 1 cup of milk, cinnamon, a little sugar and anise. But the recommendation in the preparation of all the confectionery is to make them a small size, because we are trying to change the portions so as not to eat anything in excess.

Today we have a great variety of brands of almond, coconut and flaxseed flours, given that the need to create gluten-free flours was unleashed because many people have been allergic; and for this reason, the benefits of flours based on other natural products have been made known. Of course, you should always check the nutrition label, because among the brands there are also some deceptions with the desire to sell.

So, if you are one of those people who love bread, you already have a healthier option; but do not abuse because everything in excess is bad.
