Handling of food

It’s time to get rid of the idea that your entire family will get sick, because you can prevent it.

Some recommendations might be to prepare dishes at home with natural products that are perfectly washed and disinfected, if needed. When you cook, wash your hands as many times as necessary, that is to say, whenever you stop dealing with one ingredient and move on to another, that way you won’t contaminate the rest of the food.

A very common example is when people first cut raw meat and then cut vegetables on the same cutting board and with the same knife. This leads to the foods being contaminated because meat has bacteria before we cook it and without realizing it we transmit it to vegetables that we might not rinse with hot water.

Another recommendation is that the person who cooks shouldn’t test the food with the same spoon that he/she is using to do so; a good alternative is to use an extra spoon to try the food and put it in the dirty dishes because it should not be used again on a different food since it’s already been in someone’s mouth.

We don’t usually pay much attention to caring for food at home because we are in our comfort zone, but we should stop to think that this can be the source of illness or sickness for our families.
