Summer
The summer is full of excuses to organize reunions with family and friends where we will surely have food, but we invite you to think twice about the foods that will be shared at your table.
It’s impossible to miss the hot-dogs or hamburgers, but what if you accompany them with some garnishes or extras that are prepared with vegetables? For example, in the case of hot dogs, don’t forget the ‘pico de gallo’ (a mixture of tomato, onion, cilantro, avocado, peppers and a few drops of lime); and if you want to give a healthier touch, avoid ketchup because your food will no longer need it.

In the case of hamburgers, if you can prepare the meat it is much better, because that way it will not have preservatives. You can even prepare them with cheese, but check the label of the cheese to confirm that you select the option with less fat. Also, add fresh vegetables such as onions, tomatoes, lettuce, mushrooms and avocado, so you will be sure that you are eating healthier.
Remember that you can’t miss out on a vegetable salad —preferably choose one where leaves are bright green— and another fruit salad, to accompany your meal.
