Benefits of fresh and natural foods


It’s never too late to learn about the benefits that fresh and natural foods provide since our body sends us messages when one of them is missing.

For example, all the people who live in places like Kansas City —where during the winter we don’t have the opportunity to enjoy the sun's rays on our body— surely have low levels of Vitamin D. This vitamin helps our body in the process of absorbing calcium and phosphorus.

Unfortunately, when they give us a diagnosis of this type, we think that we need pills because we haven’t learned the benefits of various foods and the vitamins and minerals that each food provides us.

If we knew the benefits, we could plan the preparation of our meals to naturally fortify ourselves with the nutrients that our body needs according to the season of the year in which we find ourselves. If we could anticipate the increase of Vitamin D through the increase of animal and vegetable foods —such as mushrooms, salmon, sardines, fresh tuna, eggs, cod, liver, peppers, almonds, dried cilantro, parsley, dried peppers— that contain it and we took a sunbath for 5-10 minutes through the window of the house, then we would help our body to have more energy, and we would improve our health.

It’s never too late to learn to select the best options to nourish us. Don’t eat just for the sake of eating, better feed yourself.
