• 2 cups of brown rice $0.75
• 1 tbsp. of olive oil $ 0.50
• 1 chopped garlic clove $0.10
• ¼ onion $0.10
• 1 lb. pork chop $3
• 2 chopped carrots $0.20
• 1 chopped potato $0.20
• ½ cup peas $0.20
• 1 chopped zucchini $0.20
• soy sauce $0.20
• dried ‘chile de árbol’ pepper (to taste) $0.10
Process:
This recipe is made with rice that has been prepared the day before, so that it doesn’t get mushy.
- Prepare the brown rice (2 ½ of water per 1 cup of rice). Remember that brown rice takes a little longer to cook.
- In a saucepan with a tablespoon of olive oil, fry garlic and onion (dried pepper).
- Add the pork chop, previously cut into small pieces, let it cook perfectly.
- Steam the vegetables, separately so that they don’t get mushy, and when they are ready, add them to the meat. (We recommend not using canned vegetables).
- At the end, add the rice and a little soy sauce mixing gently to avoid overbeating it.
- This dish is served hot.
