Avoiding temptations
It’s difficult to maintain order in our meals during the December holiday season. First, because many times someone brings sweet bread to work, and of course we’re going to eat a piece or maybe more, the first one because of the craving and then because it’s free.
Another temptation is when we are invited to eat at a friend’s or relative’s house and, regardless that we ate already at home, we eat again because we can’t “reject the invitation”; or the other, because we craved the dish.
Unfortunately, these are only 2 examples of the way we usually eat and it's wrong because we can’t afford to eat on a whim and we should not have more than 3 meals a day and 2 times for snacks.
We recommend that you make an effort not to have more meals during this season. Maybe you can plan your visits and not eat at home, because you already know that you are going to be invited to eat at the house of the person you are visiting. Another recommendation is to take a bottle of natural water with you all the time and when you feel hungry, take a few sips of water to mitigate your anxiety. Many times we are not hungry, what the body has is thirst.
This and more recommendations are at your disposal in the healthy eating talk of the Health Promoters from El Centro Inc.
