Another brick in the wall

Many Immigration law offices, like ours, work on cases for professional workers who come to the U.S. temporarily to fill specialty occupations.
Each year, over 50,000 H-1B visas are given to foreign workers who have higher education to come and work for U.S. businesses. If the worker is outside of the U.S., that worker needs to obtain a visa in their passport in order to travel to the U.S.
Recently, the director of USCIS announced that in 20 countries, the offices that handle these applications abroad, will shut down. This is just another way that the Trump Administration is halting legal immigration to the U.S.
By shutting these offices, the Administration will also make it much more difficult for those who are granted Refugee status to bring their family members legally.
The elimination of these services will have a huge negative impact on family reunification, one of the reasons for our immigration law.
In addition to reducing services abroad, the “service” that is being performed by USCIS here in the U.S. is also lacking. The average processing time for all cases filed with Immigration has increased 46% over the past 2 years, and 91% since 2014. Outrageous.
This Invisible Wall needs to be torn down and the way to do it is to Register to Vote, Educate yourselves about the Candidates, and Turn Out at the Polls.
An election is coming up the 1st week of April. Are you ready?
