Spring into action!


Let’s ignore the actual etymology of the word “spring” for a moment.

What comes to mind when you think of this word? Is it flowers blooming? Is it sunny days and warmer weather that makes you want to get out of the house? All of these things are perhaps the biggest reason why spring is the best time to spring into action.

It’s true that a lot of people like to use January 1st. as a time to set new year’s resolutions for themselves and become a new version of themselves. But why not March 20 and the beginning of spring?

Spring is a time for new beginnings, and that applies in nature and within ourselves. Aside from giving us a new opportunity to those of us who failed on our new year’s resolutions, we have to admit that many people have the goal of doing more exercise and that has simply not been possible with the cold and the snow of the last few months.

But what’s the excuse now? The weather is nice, the energy is up, and the lessons from our previous resolutions can help us make sure that we actually accomplish our goals this time.

So this is the perfect time to find that inspiration again to get in good shape and start new habits. With the warm weather that we get during spring and summer we might be able to establish these habits in a perdurable way so that we don’t lose them next fall and winter.
