Funeral of former president George HW Bush
This past Wednesday, December 5, saw the funeral of the 41st. president of the United States: George HW Bush.
The ceremony was attended by the other 4 presidents that have taken office since the deceased president left the presidency in 1992 (Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and Donald Trump). Jimmy Carter, who was president before HW Bush and Ronald Reagan, also attended the ceremony, bringing a total of 30 years of presidency who were present at the event.
George HW Bush was born in 1924 and fought in WWII before serving in the House of Representatives in 1966 and becoming Ronald Reagan’s Vice-President (1981-1989). He served as president from 1988 until 1992 before losing his reelection campaign to Bill Clinton. During his life he occupied various important jobs which include: U.S. ambassador to the United Nations in 1971, head of the Republican National Committee during the Watergate scandal, U.S. envoy to China, and director of the Central Intelligence Agency in 1976.
