John McCain dies at 81

Senator John Sidney McCain III, known for his more than five years as a prisoner of war in Vietnam and for his presidential campaign from 2008, died on Saturday after a long battle against a glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer.

McCain was born on Aug. 29, 1936 in the Panama Canal Zone. He was the second of three children born to the respected military family of John McCain Sr and Roberta McCain. Both Sen. McCain’s father and grandfather served as four-star United States Navy Admirals, and McCain grew up on a number of naval bases in the US and abroad before finishing private high school in Virginia.

It’s been reported by CNN that McCain chose Barack Obama and George W. Bush to eulogize him. He also didn't want the President to attend his funeral, and this would be a clear final message from McCain to Trump. When he was alive, McCain saw the President's demeanor, populist style and global outlook as antithetical to America's founding values and global role.

Rest in Peace
