Women's rights are human rights
In a shameful decision yesterday, the Attorney General of the U.S. decided that the human rights of women will not be protected.
Prior to AG Jeff Session’s decision, victims of severe domestic violence, who suffered in their home countries and the government of their home country did not protect their human rights, could possibly win protection under international law.

The U.S. government is working hard to shut the door to human beings fleeing violence and persecution in their home countries. In the stroke of a pen, this Administration and Jeff Sessions have taken a step to reverse decades of international and U.S. law that recognize these victims as worthy of protection.
As the Center for Gender and Refugee Studies (CGRS – at the UC Hastings College of Law) gears up to fight AG Sessions on this issue, refusing to “be yanked back into the dark ages, before women’s rights were recognized as human rights”, we all need to use our voices, our feet, our dollars, and our votes to make our voices heard and support women asylum seekers who are facing deportation.
