The Children
Children are marvellous creatures. They are miniature persons whose mere look can generate endearment, joy, peace, etc.
If we observe them with attention, we realize that they don’t have prejudices, they act without thinking “what they will say”; they have a large imagination and creativity, they are capable of playing with a rock, a piece of wood or some broken object as if it were a toy. They are very observant and they are amazed by things that are simple to adults, but they find them fascinating. They have infinite curiosity and they constantly ask questions that sometimes are not easy to answer. Children don’t give up easily, they are very persistent, sometimes we see them trying to do things time and again, some of them impossible to achieve, but they keep trying.
That’s the general reality of childhood, unfortunately there are also disease, mistreatment and poverty that cause them permanent damage and sometimes death.
On the other hand, the way in which we treat and educate children shapes their character and personality. We adults are the ones who teach them to judge, be aggressive, shy, apprehensive and feel guilt and envy.
It’s more than proven that the best way to turn them into successful adults is to give them a happy childhood.
It’s said that an adult is a child that knows how to behave in society, but what is certain is that it’s only up to us to maintain that ingenuity and purity. If we want to always have the soul of children, we must forget prejudices, have fun in what we do, not pretend to know it all and ask; not be afraid of ridicule, try once and again (as children do), not hold back when something is astonishing, and always be happy and optimistic. Happy children’s day!
