Local Radio Station to Broadcast 2Mas2KC

2Mas2KC’s content will be played on local broadcaster One Kansas City Radio.

Starting this month, the broadcaster will play our news content hourly throughout the day. The broadcaster’s 200,000 radio listeners located in from downtown Kansas City to the Historic Northeast area will be able to hear it. Listeners can also tune in online.

The publication “stood out to [the radio station] because we believe your publication is sincerely about the community,” One Kansas City Radio Founder and President Gunard Polite said.

“This is evident in the partnerships you have already created with other organizations in Kansas City,” he said, such as La Mega and Univision.

Polite also cited 2Mas2KC’s decision to publish the periodical in both English and Spanish as a selling point. His station is also working toward cultivating a bilingual audience.

One Kansas City’s radio features multilingual daily programs alongside music from local musicians and producers. The station was created as a non-profit community radio station in 2012 and in October 2017 One Kansas City went to the web.

Like 2Mas2KC’s mission to foster a meaningful, diverse local conversation, Polite said One Kansas City Radio has worked to “launch a positive platform focused on the multicultural community in Kansas City and provide a voice for the young urban residents in our broadcast reach.”

“One Kansas City Radio and [2Mas2KC] both look to provide value and equity for and in our communities. The articles you publish are positive, relevant and timely, and your bilingual publication aligns with our audience and population,” Gunard wrote in response to questions given by instant message.

Starting in the last week of February, those who live in the downtown Kansas City area who are tuned in to the station’s frequency 100.1 FM will be able to hear this newspaper’s content broadcast hourly from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

For those located elsewhere, the station is available on the web at onekcradio.org and through smart home devices like Google Home and Amazon’s Alexa via the web radio app TuneIn. To play the station, give this command to your device: Play One Kansas City Radio on TuneIn.”
