In Kansas and Missouri, registering to vote is important for the upcoming elections.
If you have moved since the last time you voted, you need to update your information with the Election Board, or you may not be allowed to cast a ballot. It is important to participate in the elections, even if it isn’t a Presidential election, because those other elected officials actually affect our daily lives more with decisions about roads, taxes, schools, etc.
Kansans are fortunate, because the election rules allow for early voting. This helps people who will be traveling, who can't get off from work on election day, or who are just so excited to vote that they can't wait until election day.
Unfortunately, the Missouri Legislature has blocked any improvements to the voting process and you cannot vote early in Missouri and must have a good reason for voting by Absentee Ballot.
Every day, there are young people having birthdays and becoming eligible to vote. If you are 18 years old and you have not yet registered to vote, please do so! If you are a parent, friend, teacher, neighbor of an 18-year old, please make sure that they take the time to register and participate in the election.
Even if you, as a parent, are not eligible to vote, you can do your part and make sure that your U.S. citizen children, who are old enough to vote, actually do so. It is only by participating in this election process, and choosing responsible representatives who will support immigration reform that we will be able to improve this broken immigration system.

If you have questions about how to register to vote in Missouri, call 1-800-669-8683 or go to the website: www.sos.mo.gov. In Kansas, go to the website: www.kssos.org/elections or call the office of the Secretary of State at 785-296-4564.
