NEW SECTION - Working Together
Dear readers,
Greetings! As we look ahead to a new year, we are pleased to announce a new bimonthly column here in Dos Mas Dos. Pedro Zamora, CEO of the Hispanic EDC, and I, CEO of Lead Bank, have been working together on ways to make better things happen for Kansas City’s Latino business community. This joint column gives us an opportunity to respond to your questions and comments so that we can build a greater Kansas City community together by aiding Latino entrepreneurship and business leadership. Have questions about city contracting, the airport, cash flow? Send them in and we’ll respond together.
We know it’s important to build trust between the Latino community, business leaders and financial institutions. Creating mutual respect allows us to develop a supportive ecosystem of community partners. The consequences of not doing this well can be profound. There is clearly a need for comprehensive and participatory approaches that establish collaborative partnerships within our Kansas City community.
There is so much to be excited about in 2018. For example, the recent $1.6 million pledge from the U.S. Commerce Department to create a new business incubator for the Hispanic EDC and of course the building of a new Kansas City airport, create real opportunities for Latino entrepreneurs. We want to make sure that your business is aware of these efforts and knows how to participate in these opportunities. We’d love to hear from you. Please submit your business questions to together@lead.bank
Sincerely,
Pedro Zamora,
Executive Director, Hispanic Economic Development Corporation
Josh Rowland,
Chief Executive Officer, Lead Bank
