Thanksgiving day is gone, it was the first big celebration of the season; a great opportunity to enjoy with family or friends ... and overeating.
But this holiday season also brings good and bad things with it. The first and inevitable are the expenses, both for the celebrations themselves, and the presents that we give. And if we add to this that for many people the work decreases, the economic part is sometimes particularly difficult. One more is the cold and snow, which bring difficulties to perform our job as well as road problems, and the increased risk of suffering an accident due to snow or frozen floor. And what we have already mentioned about the lack of sunlight that can bring with it sadness and depression.
But all that is only the "difficult" part, on the other side we have the family coexistence, the joy of giving and receiving presents, shopping (although later we have difficulties to pay), enjoying the variety of seasonal food, the visit of family and friends that we don’t see very often and the joy that the tree, the adornments and the Christmas lights of the season bring.
This is a good time to reflect on the resolutions we did last year and the ones we have for next year. You have to think that the resolutions are like the diets that we started every Monday, maybe we do not carry them out, but it’s always better to do them, than to never propose anything.
In this end-of-year season, let's make a point of giving as many people as we can —whether it’s gifts (even just a little present) or helping others— and of ending the year well, so we can start the next one with new spirits.
