Proteins

There are 2 types of proteins, one that comes from animals such as poultry, eggs, fish, red meats and dairy products; and the other type that comes from vegetables such as walnuts, hazelnuts, peanuts, mushrooms, and leguminous (all those seeds that are divided into two equal parts) such as chickpeas, beans, green beans and peas, to name a few.

Proteins are essential for our body and it’s necessary to consume them in the right amount as a basis of healthy nutrition. They contain amino acids that help our body in the formation of muscles, tendons, organs, glands, nails and hair.

You should consume at least 5 ounces of animal protein or 2 ½ cups of vegetable protein every day.

Our recommendation is that if you are not a high-performance athlete or are not participating in a doctor-supervised diet to increase muscle, you should consume the protein in its original presentation and not in supplements or shakes.

The consumption of protein is as important to our body as it is the consumption of water.
