When talking about new resolutions for 2017, maybe we get the idea of starting a group to help or provide a service for other people. A good example of this is being a Community Health Promoter. Everyone in one way or another is already a promoter of health because we like to recommend a service or program that gave us a good experience.
But beyond only recommending a service, Health Promoters have the opportunity to strengthen their leadership abilities thanks to training in healthy eating, prevention of diabetes or perhaps recommendations to stop smoking. Once a health promoter shares his or her knowledge and impacts the health of others, s/he is taking a step towards towards the strength of the community.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the promotion of health is a process that consists of providing towns with the necessary means to improve their health and to exercise control over it.
“Health Promoters”is a community program that exists in the majority of countries and takes more strength where there are vulnerable groups.

Since 10 years ago, El Centro, Inc. created a group of Community Health Providers and has prepared more than 200 health promoters in Kansas to try and bring a better quality of life for the migrant Latino community.
