Financial savings



This is a good time to start a financial savings plan. We can take advantage of Christmas parties to make a financial savings plan that can help us save money when we buy food because December is a month that comes with many expenditures that we cannot avoid but that we can plan for.


If you organize yourself in the planning of a weekly menu and you are disposed to go to the supermarket to buy only what you wrote on your list, I assure you that you will be able to use the money saved in those extra expenditures that you have for the season. The steps that you must follow to not lose balance with your healthy dishes are:


• Eat every day at least 2 ½ fresh vegetables (not canned)

• Eat every day at least 2 cups of fresh fruit (not canned)

• Eat every day a maximum of 5 portions of grains

• Eat every day a maximum of 6 ounces of protein (2 portions the size of the palm of your hand)

• Eat every day a maximum of 3 cups of dairy products


Make the effort that in your plate there is at least 1 product from each food group to maintain equilibrium. Try not to repeat grains, for example, if you are going to eat rice that day don’t eat another grain like bread or tortilla.
