Are you a believer?

Most people in the world call themselves believers. Christians, Muslims, Hindus and Buddhists total more than 70% of the world's population.

Although for most people our parents are the ones who teach us religion, practically everyone at some point in our lives questions the existence of God, and if the way we behave or think is correct.

Like many other things in life, the way we lead our spiritual life depends on how solid the foundations of our beliefs are and how good or bad our experiences have been.

There are those who were forced to certain rites or had the misfortune to meet a poor preacher or guide and this usually marks them forever, provoking a rejection and even a feeling against everything religious.

On the other hand, there are those who simply do not like someone else to tell them how they should behave and many others who, because of laziness or convenience, prefer to say they’re atheists, agnostics or that they carry religion "in their own way."

In all countries there are laws and punishments for those who steal, kill or do damage to others or their property, including those who insult or denigrate. All this is forbidden in most religions, but since this is something that is considered moral or that "only God can judge," a law is necessary for humans to behave well even if it’s due to fear or going to jail since going to hell "remains to be seen."

Let us be clear, what is wrong, is wrong, even in our own thoughts. How lucky that nobody can know what we are thinking, because if there was a way to know it and a law, we would probably all be arrested.

The fact is that the only thing that can control our behavior and our bad thoughts ... is faith. Whether there is another life or not, whether there is reincarnation or whether God punishes us or not, that is something that we can’t know until later.

What is known is that the people who live with their "clear conscience" live better and then ... God will reward them.
