IME – Fellowship program in Kansas and Missouri


On Nov. 22, 2016, at the offices of the Consulate of Mexico in Kansas City, Consul Alfonso Navarro Bernachi delivered checks for a total of $100,000 to the awarding institutions that will help Mexican and Mexican American to pursue their higher education.


The IME-Fellowship program set a record for number of allied institutions for its program in Kansas and Missouri. In collaboration with the Consulate of Mexico in Kansas City, these organizations will grant scholarships to 98 students, doubling the amount of scholarships provided in the 2015-2016 cycle. The participating institutions for this year are: Kansas State University, University of Missouri in Kansas City, Donnelly College, The Don Bosco Centers, Bishop Ward High School, Johnson County Community College, and The Greater Kansas City Hispanic Development Fund.

The IME-Fellowship program is an initiative promoted by the Mexican Government since 2005 which has benefitted more than 45,000 Mexicans and Mexican Americans who seek to continue with their studies in middle and higher education, English as a Second Language, and GED – HiSET courses in the Unites States.
